Her Story
The Woman Behind the Brand
Kandice McKinney didn't set out to build a brand. She set out to survive. Like so many women, she found herself in a season of grief that didn't fit neatly into a timeline or a five-step process. Loss had a way of showing up uninvited, staying longer than expected, and changing everything it touched.
In the middle of that season, she started writing. Not for an audience — for herself. She wrote to process, to pray, to grieve, and eventually, to hope. Those pages became the foundation of what would later become The Mourning After: A Guided Grief Journal — a resource born not from theory, but from lived experience.
There She Glow grew from that same place. It became a space for women who were in the middle of something hard and needed permission to feel it fully — and still believe that something beautiful was on the other side. The name itself is a declaration: she is glowing, even now. Even here. Even in this.
Today, Kandice is an author, speaker, and community builder whose work reaches women across the country. She speaks at conferences, retreats, and corporate events on topics of grief, healing, personal growth, leadership, and faith. She writes resources that meet women in their most tender moments and walk with them toward wholeness.
But more than any title or platform, Kandice is a woman who has done the work — and who shows up every day to help other women do theirs.
